GAVIN BROOKS STUDIO
A summer of painting in the canyons and along the
coast of Laguna, California yielded some
interesting and exciting new works featuring the
pastel twilight atmosphere along the Pacific.
I also toured areas of Wyoming, Montana and Colorado.
A great paint out in the Gunnison river area with Brooks Powell
rounded up my travels and now the home studio beckons!

I am a new member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters
Association In
addition, I
received a Signature Membership to the National
Academy of Professional Plein Air Painters. Noted artist and
MAPAPA Juror, Kevin MacPherson, selected my work to be included in the
Annual MAPAPA Paint Annapolis 2004 Invitational with an exhibit at the
Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in the City of Annapolis. on
the September 26th. I
will join 24 accomplished artists for the event.
I am preparing for two
Art Walk shows in August which include McBride Gallery of
Annapolis on the 19th
and Hole in the Wall Gallery of Ennis, Montana on the 26th.
Those long painting sessions required some time
with family surfing in the California waves.
